In 2023, UMP STEM Lab embarked on a groundbreaking collaboration with Cardiff Metropolitan University and the British Council as part of the Partnership for Innovation in Employability (PIE) Programme for Women in STEM, known as PIE2. This partnership aimed to empower women in STEM fields, with a specific focus on robot literacy.

As part of the PIE2 Program, students engaged in a comprehensive learning experience covering robot mechanics and sensors. This initiative not only provided valuable technical skills but also encouraged women to explore and excel in STEM disciplines traditionally underrepresented by females.

A significant aspect of this collaboration was a roundtable session, in collaboration with JPN Pahang, with teachers, emphasizing effective teaching and learning activities related to artificial intelligence (AI) and robotics. This session facilitated a collaborative exchange of ideas, best practices, and innovative approaches to enhance education in these critical STEM areas.

UMP STEM Lab is proud to contribute to the PIE2 Program, which aligns with our commitment to promoting inclusivity and diversity in STEM education. By fostering robot literacy and facilitating discussions among educators, we aim to inspire women to pursue and thrive in STEM careers.

This collaboration exemplifies our dedication to creating impactful partnerships that go beyond traditional academic boundaries. UMP STEM Lab looks forward to continuing this journey of empowerment, working together with Cardiff Metropolitan University and the British Council to shape a future where women play a central role in the innovation and progress of STEM fields.
